ABOUT GSA

Global Scholarship Alliance (GSA) provides work/study scholarship programs for international nurses that combine scholarships at American universities with practical training and restricted on-campus employment at university affiliated healthcare institutions.

Our Vision
Global Scholarship Alliance imagines a world in which the supply of qualified healthcare providers meets the global demand for healthcare services, where the international migration of healthcare providers is sustainable, and where the standards of quality for healthcare professionals are consistent across nations.

Our Mission
To increase the global supply of qualified nurses, nurse leaders and educators, and ease their equitable distribution throughout the world by producing sustainable international education and professional development programs involving scholarships, training, and cultural exchange.

Our Objectives

  • To increase mutual understanding and respect among healthcare organizations, nurses, nurse leaders, and nurse educators around the world by means of educational and cultural exchanges.

  • To provide education and professional development opportunities to qualified nurses throughout the world.

  • To help ease the global nursing shortage by means of an ethical, socially responsible, and economically sustainable development program for international nurses.

  • To bolster the health systems of countries around the world by developing better educated and better skilled nurses, nurse leaders and nurse educators.

  • To produce capable nurse leaders and educators who are scholarly practitioners and agents of positive social change.

"Foreign students enrich our communities with their academic abilities and cultural diversity, and they return home with an increased understanding and often a lasting affection for the United States. I can think of no more valuable asset to our country than the friendship of future world leaders who have been educated here."

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell
