Sister Remy JunioSister Remy Angela Junio

Sister Remy Junio is the co-founder of the GSA program in the Philippines. The genesis of the GSA program was in March of 2000 when Todd Bol, the Company's founder, began discussing the growing global nursing shortage with Sister Remy Angela Junio from St. Paul's University in Manila, Philippines. Sister Remy told Mr. Bol of the Philippine's rapid loss of nurses, including hospital middle management and educators, to developed countries. It became clear that the conventional international recruiting methods were unsustainable.

Together, Todd Bol and Sr. Remy, with input from nursing, church and educational leaders throughout the Philippines, conceived of a sustainable model for replenishing the world's supply of nurses, nurse leaders, and nurse educators. They could not stop the exodus of nurses, but they could create an "ecologically sound" model that developed Philippines nurses as nursing educators and leaders to help develop the next generation of nurses globally and within the Philippines.

The focal points of her efforts are to optimize the use of available nursing school resources in the design of recruitment and retention programs intended to produce the next-generation of evidence-based practitioners. Dr. Johnson is encouraged that all of GSA’s programs are respectful of the global nursing eco-system.
